IGERT Program of Study [pdf]

Complementing and extending the set of core courses in the home departments, the IGERT courses in the first two years form the foundation for further interdisciplinary studies and research. These bridging courses include a course in physical cell biology, a course for exploring the scientific literature, a courses on the science of interfaces, including both biological membranes and interfaces in polymer, colloidal, and biomolecular science, a spring course on science communication, and an ethics seminar. The cross-disciplinary science courses will build on each student’s specific disciplinary knowledge and provide him or her with the language and perspectives in all areas of interface science.
