Ethics in Science

Monthly two-hour meetings will focus on the deep and diverse issues of ethics in the conduct of science, with an emphasis on a case-study approach. Biomedical Engineering Professor Jay Henderson and local experts  will jointly lead discussions. Topics covered will include ethics issues in research (proper documentation, reporting scientific misconduct), publication practices (intellectual property, co-authorship, refereeing), patent filing, ethics issues in biomedical research (stem cells, genetic engineering), and ethics issues in business.
